SUMMARY:
The Medical Transport Specialist is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from medical appointments, day programs, and residential locations while providing compassionate, professional support throughout the transportation process. This position serves as an important liaison between clients, caregivers, and healthcare providers by ensuring timely arrivals, maintaining clear communication, and assisting clients with basic non clinical needs during transport. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and prior experience working in healthcare or clinical environments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, medical orders, policies, and procedures. Communicates clearly and professionally with clients, families, interdisciplinary team members, and external providers in one on one and small group settings. Able to document accurately and legibly in medical records and complete basic written correspondence related to client care and services.
MATHEMATICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and to create and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram formats and to address problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.
